Inside each mezuzah is a handwritten parchment, called a klaf, inscribed by a trained scribe with these sacred passages. Placing a mezuzah on the doorpost sanctifies the home, serving as a constant reminder of Jewish faith, values, and the presence of G-d in daily life. Traditionally, a mezuzah is affixed to the right side of the doorway, slightly angled inward, symbolizing both reverence and welcome. Touching or kissing the mezuzah when entering or leaving is a common custom, expressing mindfulness, continuity, and connection across generations.

A mezuzah case is not only a vessel, but a beautiful threshold object. It is the very first piece of art one sees before even entering a Jewish home, holding sacred text while marking the passage between inside and out. It serves as a daily, tactile reminder of intention, protection, and belonging. The mezuzah case becomes a meeting point of ritual and design: something meant to be touched, noticed, and lived with. My painted mezuzah cases are rooted in tradition yet expressed through feeling, inspiration and color, honoring both the sanctity they contain and the contemporary space they inhabit.

Custom Family Portrait Mezuzah Case
No reviews
Regular price$300.00
This awesome mezuzah case features your family portrait on your very own mezuzah case! I can even include pets. Amazing for a housewarming, anniversary, wedding or new baby gift. Also makes a very cute case for a child's room.
This unique and personal gift is perfect for a Jewish family. I will illustrate a custom portrait for them, including pets! The mezuzah case is approximately 6 inches long, made out of wood, coated with a glossy finish and it a waterproof sealant. It comes with double face adhesive on the back, which makes it very easy to attach.
How it works:
1. Since I illustrate custom portraits from your photos, I rely on the images and notes you provide. Please make sure you can meet these photo requirements.
2. Custom portraits take 1-3 weeks to complete. If you need your portrait by a particular date, please message me first to make sure I can do it — I always try my best to accommodate requests!
3. When you’re ready to place an order, select the number of people/pets from the menu. The base price of $300 includes two people.
4. Upload photos when you place your order, or email them to me. I do not need all people in one photo --- you can send me a photo for each person. You can upload up to two photos with your order and email me additional ones to studio@annaabramzon.com. (Please note: In order to meet the 1-3 week deadline, all photos and details must be provided promptly.)
5. I’ll get to work!
Please don't hesitate with questions! I am always happy to answer and am usually pretty quick about it. =)
