The Perfect Mix and Match Ketubah for Lindsey and Jeremy
Lindsey and Jeremy met on Hinge in February of 2023. Well, Lindsey liked his picture 3 months before, but Jeremy didn't 'like her back' until then! Their first date was at Green Door Tavern in Chicago followed by many more fun dates, nights out with friends, and lazy nights in.
After one full Sunday of hanging out, Lindsey knew Jeremy was the one. When she got home, Jeremy texted her saying ‘I had an amazing day with you today and I can’t wait to see you again on Wednesday’ and instead of her usual cringe, she smiled really big.
Jeremy knew Lindsey was the one for him a few months into dating when they stayed up late one night talking about long term relationship plans; moving in together, where they'd buy a house, how many kids they both wanted, and how they'd raise them. She was the only person in his life he'd ever imagined to go through that journey with.
Jeremy moved in with Lindsey 6 months after their first date and the rest was history!
When couples reach out to me about commissioning a custom ketubah I always tell them that they have two options: commission a one-of-a-kind hand painted ketubah from scratch, or take one of my already existing ketubah designs and use it as a launch point get creative.
Lindsey and Jeremy's ketubah is the perfect example of what we can do together when you pick an already existing design from my ketubah collection and make it your own.
Lindsey tells me "We looked at hundreds of Ketubahs and none of them felt like 'us'. We wanted something unique that incorporated elements that represented the two of us. We met in Chicago, so we wanted to incorporate the city skyline. We also loved the idea of the tree of life being incorporated due to the beautiful meaning it holds. We mixed and matched a few of Anna's designs which resulted in a beautiful Ketubah we both loved."
They started out with the custom love tree ketubah with round text as their base:

But they wanted to combine it with a Chicago skyline, the figures, and the coloring of the Romantic Night Custom Skyline Ketubah:

And the final request was to make the couple into a Love Tree -- that's when I intertwine couples into a tree of life and add some shine with hand painted gold leaf too.
The result was truly unique and stunning:
When I asked the newlyweds to tell me the most important value as a foundation for their marriage, Jeremy said to ask Lindsey, he doesn’t know. Ha! I love a couple with a sense of humor! Jokes aside, the most important value to Lindsey and Jeremy is family because it's core to who they are and they can't wait to raise Jewish children together and create new traditions.
What advice would you give to couples just starting out on their wedding planning journey?
Lindsey and Jeremy: Be on the same page about expectations, make the wedding unique to yourselves, and don't get hung up on the details. It'll all come together in the end so enjoy the ride!
I can't stop drooling over their stunning photos by Randy from Crane's Photography. Aren't they breathtaking? If you're looking for a wedding photographer in Chicago, look no further!
What are your favorite moments of the wedding day?
Lindsey: Walking down the aisle towards Jeremy knowing that was the beginning of their futures together.
Jeremy: Joining the band during the reception to play Lindsey's favorite song "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" while she joined him to dance along.
Now here is a crazy story:
Lindsey bought her original wedding dress a year in advance and then decided 6 weeks before the wedding that she didn't love it. Luckily, she was able to snag the dress of her dreams in the nick of time thanks to Lindsay Hubbard, the star of Bravo TV's show Summer House.
What!?!? I'm gonna need more details on that story. But boy was this dress stunning, so I can definitely see why Lindsey made the switch.
Lindsey and Jeremy, I am so honored that my art got to be among the first of your Jewish family heirlooms. I wish you a lifetime of happiness together! May your home be blessed with joy, laughter, singing, dancing, and the sounds of many kids and Jewish Joy. L'chaim!!
